Laura has always been fascinated by history and the stories of war. When she discovered a book on the making of Chainmaille she realised how those techniques could be translated into beautiful and unusual jewellery and a passion was born. Although chainmaille was originally designed for protection and the trials of war, the challenge of creating a beautiful piece of jewellery, from those designs was compelling and fun.
Laura creates each design by hand with strong hands and several pairs of well loved pliers, patiently linking hundreds of tiny sterling silver jump rings together in elaborate patterns. The resulting jewellery is striking and shiny and has both substance and movement, it shines with a story all of it's own.
